Forgive me mankind,
For I have sinned,
Betraying my brethren in a church corridor
Wasting my words once again
Branded from early days of twilight
Whispering, waiting, wanting,
With nothing but silence from the starless sky
For I have sinned,
Betraying my brethren in a church corridor
Wasting my words once again
Branded from early days of twilight
Whispering, waiting, wanting,
With nothing but silence from the starless sky

Poetry doodle part two. My sister was reading religious text out loud and it made me think of this.

Kind of makes me think about the difference between religion and atheism. When you wrote "Forgive me mankind" and "With nothing but silence from the starless sky" it seemed to reaffirm that idea for me. The narrator of the poem doesn't ask forgiveness from God, but rather from other people themselves (which kind of undermines the purpose of religion). And the last line is certainly about the narrator wanting some kind of reaffirmation from Heaven, but you used "starless sky" instead of Heaven - almost like this person is turning away from the God who won't listen to them with more scientific words and imagery. Just my two cents.
